  • CCSP was invited by Ramjas College Delhi to take part in the ASTROFEST. CCSP conducted a mobile planetarium program and Prof. M. Sami, director of CCSP presented a public talk. March 2024.
  • CCSP conducted planetarium outreach at Literacy India School, Gurugram exclusively for 200 Girl Students on February 24, 2024. This program was also in line with IAU’s Women and Girls in Astronomy month. This is celebrated between the International Day of Women and Girls in Science on 11 February and International Women’s Day on 8 March.
  • National Science Day was celebrated at SGT University with hands-on sessions and Taramandal show, organized by Centre for Cosmology and Science Popularization: CCSP in February 2024
  • Professor Abhijit Bhattacharyya from the Department of Physics, University of Calcutta in CosmoCafe@CCSP Seminar series organized by CCSP at SGT University in February 2024.
  • CCSP Welcome Mr. Avik Dashgupta, who has joined in January 2024 as a Project Manager.
  • The 2nd Annual CCSP Conference, COSMOLOGY@CCSP_2 was organised from November 29 to December 1, 2023. Six different countries participated in the event, promoting a global exchange of knowledge and ideas. A stellar lineup of over thirty parallel lectures, six review lectures, and ten plenary lectures by senior scientists covered various topics, from dark matter and neutrino physics to the early universe's rapid expansion. The conference's high point was the enthralling keynote address given by eminent relativist and cosmologist Prof. Anzhong Wang of Baylor University, who discussed how quantum mechanics is applied in cosmology and how it affects gravitational waves. 2nd Meghnad Saha memorial lecture was delivered by Prof. Gautam Bhattacharyya, the current director of Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics, Kolkata.
  • CCSP took part in SYNERGY2023: More than 100 show was organised under the Taramandal Program.
  • CCSP organised ASTROCOSMOCON in October 2023 which promises to be a stunning fusion of multiple disciplines, with speakers and visitors from prestigious institutions all over the country. Students have experienced hands-on sessions of reducing data from Astrosat and Swift space observatories, as well as a night sky-gazing session.
  • Dr. Sayantan Choudhury is selected for the NASImembership by the National Academy of Sciences,September, 2023.
  • CCSP and SGT Student welfare Committee organised a short discussion lead by Dr. Mayukh Raj Gangopadhyay on India’s CHANDRAYAAN 3 Mission and its success, August, 2023
  • Dr. Nilanjana Kumar has been selected for the prestigious Indian Academy of Sciences (IASc) Associateship program, September, 2023
  • Three CCSP publications have been cited by the recent NANOgrav result. NANOgrav is an International collaboration of radio telescopes which has been successful to observe Gravitational Waves in the Nanohertz range.
  • CCSP Director Prof. M.Sami was awarded by SGT University on 7th July 2023, for ranking among top 2% scientists in the world.
  • CCSP organised a Taramandal Show for school students, “COSMIC ODYSSEY: Embark on an Astronomical Adventure” on 4th , 5th and 7th July, 2023.
  • CCSP postdoc Dr. Yogesh received a postdoctoral position at prestigious Zhejiang University of Technology, China, June 2023
  • Mr. Muzammil Akhtar joined as a Project Associate under the Startup Research Grant Scheme with PI Dr. Nilanjana Kumar on 1st June, 2023.
  • Prof Naresh Dadhich from IUCAA, Pune presented a seminar on the Recent trends in Gravity at CCSP, SGT University on 29th May, 2023
  • Indian Academy of Sciences, Bengaluru is sending 5 summer interns to the members at CCSP in the June-August period.
  • Dr. Poonam Mehta from JNU, Delhi presented a seminar on the Neutrino frontier in Particle Physics at CCSP, SGT University on 23rd May.
  • CCSP welcomes Dr. Aditi Agarwal, a new faculty member who is an expert in Astrophysics.
  • Prof Debajyoti Choudhury from the Department of Physics and Astrophysics, University of Delhi gave a lecture for students on “Stern Gerlach experiment and why electron spin is ½” on 12th April at SGT University. The program was organized by the Faculty of Science in association with CCSP.
  • CCSP celebrates National Science Day on 15th March: Lectures and Hands on Session by expert scientist Dr. Margarita Safanova, IIA, and Dr. Shibesh K.J. Pacif.
  • Mr. A. M. Anirudhan joined CCSP as Project Associate-I under SRG grant, SERB DST.

  • Paper by M.Sami and R Myrzakulov on “Cosmological relevance of scaling solutions:A recipe for quintessential inflation” is published in the Padmanabhan memorial special issue of General Relativity and Gravitation (GERG).
  • Two faculty members of CCSP, Dr. Mayukh Raj Gangopadhyay and Dr. Shibesh Kumar Jas Pacif are selected for the prestigious Visiting Associateship Programme at the Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA), Pune, for a period of three years.
  • Paper by Dr. Shibesh Kumar Jas Pacif and Mohit K. Sharma on “Observational constraints on the massive neutrinos induced late-time cosmic acceleration” is published in Physica Scripta.
  • Paper by Dr. Nilanjana Kumar on “Alternative signatures of the quintuplet fermions at the LHC and future linear colliders” is published in Physical Review D.
  • CCSP and SGT University jointly held a successful 2 day mobile planetarium show on 1st and 2nd June, as a part of science popularisation program. The TARAMANDAL Program was held with the help of the experts and led by Dr. Shibesh Kumar Jas Pacif.
  • Two M.Sc students nominated by Indian Academy of Sciences and one post M.Sc student from Jamia Millia Islamia joined in May as summer students at CCSP.
  • A paper on Hubble tension published in Physical Review D by M. R. Gangopadhyay, M. Sami and M. S. Sharma, has now been invited for contributory papers in the special Issue "Modified Gravity Approaches to the Tensions of ΛCDM", in the international journal Universe.
  • M. Sami and M. R. Gangopadhyay is appointed as Guest Editors by Galaxies, an international journal by MDPI to bring out a special issue on early universe cosmology.
  • Shibesh Kumar Jas Pacif is appointed as Associate Editor of the journal Advances in High Energy Physics.
  • Nilanjana Kumar contributed in the The “International Linear Collider: Report to Snowmass 2021” and “The physics case of a 3 TeV muon collider stage : Report to Snowmass 2021”, Snowmass is organized by the Division of Particles and Fields of the American Physical Society.
